More than her name that sounds just like the American rock star, it’s her talent and her warm friendliness that make up Tina Thörner’s fame. With solid rally experience (more than 70 world rallies competed in) she has put her skills at the service of the Nissan Rally-Raid Team since the Dakar 2003. After having navigated for Ari Vatanen, this year she’ll lavish her advice on Colin McRae. Illustrious names, talented drivers. But Tina is used to it: she was the co-driver for Thomas Radström and Kenneth Eriksson in the WRC. Tina, a true devotee and great professional, is one of the rare women involved at the highest level in automobile racing. In rally raids her awards list is already formidable: in 1999, the year when she climbed the final podium of the Dakar, she made it possible for Jutta Kleinschmidt to be the first woman to lead the event. Her smile, her continual good mood and her accessibility make Tina a lovable person and an exceptional co-driver. |
